taking a time out.
This week has been full of workouts for me. On top of the 2weekchallenge, I am also doing the occasional FitFriendChallenge workouts that Rach tweets out. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I also threw in other workouts. Wednesday consisted of zumba, Thursday had 45 minutes of Just Dance 2 with the kiddo, and Friday, I did the 100 challenge.
I weighed myself before starting the 2weekchallenge and I think I’m going to try to refrain from checking it until the challenge is over. Not obsessing over that number is extremely difficult. Everytime I think about it, or see the post it note on my mirror with my starting numbers, I fight an internal struggle.
I’ve found working out really helps me “cool down.” I’ve had a stress-filled couple of days this week, and instead of (mostly) losing my cool or overly freaking out (I’ll admit, minor freakouts happened), I worked out. I’d run a lap around the block, or do pushups. And once I’d feel calmed down, I would return to whatever I was doing beforehand.
I’m learning even mommy needs a time out once in a while.
